Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working with a well established service business in Sheffield as they look to recruit a Finance Manager into the team. This role will report directly into the Managing Director and will be responsible for 2 accounts staff. 

They are seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Finance Manager to join their Sheffield team. The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all financial activities, including Monthly Management Accounts, Monthly Group Accounting Pack along with cost based analysis and variance analysis.  You will work closely with the senior management team and group in providing financial information and supporting in strategic decision-making processes. What they offer:

Please note this role will be office-based 5 days a week, standard working hours are 9am – 5.30pm or 8am – 4.30pm although flexibility can be offered around this.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day to day running of the finance department and managing a team of 2
  • Business partnering with budget holders on a regular basis
  • Managing and maintaining the financial accounting system
  • Production of various month end reports
  • Performing cost-based analysis
  • Setting annual and long-term forecast budgets for all business aspects
  • Engaging in cross-departmental activity assisting in cost management reviews and improvement projects
  • Presentation of monthly financial review with local inter-departmental management
  • Overseeing year end statutory accounts
  • Ensuring timely preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns
  • Preparation of weekly payroll data for processing of wages/salaries
  • Maintaining existing ISO Accreditation Standards whilst proactively raising standards to improve supplier and customer experiences
  • Maintaining debtor management and providing monthly reports
  • Working with external auditors, facilitating the audit process and ensuring timely tax computations and submission
  • Managing timely and efficient payments to creditors
  • Reporting weekly cash spend forecast and management of cash forecasting system
  • Calculation of monthly accrual information from MRP System to Xero Accounting System
  • Engagement with Customer & Supplier Management teams where required
  • Adhering to and actively improving all financial management procedures

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • ACCA/ CIMA/ ACA Qualified
  • At least 5 years’ experience gained in finance
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency in financial software as well as Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to manage and develop a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Proactive and results-driven approach
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
