Elevation Senior Finance are delighted to be recruiting a Group Tax Manager to work on a part-time basis for a successful multi-site business in Sheffield. The successful candidate will be required to work 3 days each week (these hours could be worked over 4 days) - and you will have the benefit of hybrid working. This is a new role that has been created as the business looks to bring their tax function in-house. The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for delivering strategic projects and all aspects of UK corporate tax compliance, reporting, risk, controls and tax policy.Responsibilities will include:• Take the lead for all tax related matters across the Group• Deliver tax planning and compliance activities in line with business objectives• Be proactive in anticipating and evaluating industry developments and legislative changes, delivering solutions and recommending efficient tax structures and best practices for the Group• Completion, review, and submission of Corporate Tax and VAT returns• Review internal procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with VAT rules • Ensure VAT and other tax compliance for cross-border trade• Handle Irish VAT and corporate submissions• Integration of local VAT registrations throughout the EU• Oversee the SAO process and procedures• Develop systems, processes, and best practice• Support various projects, including restructuring, M&A, and financing, to optimise the tax profile and reduce risk, providing technical adviceKey skills / qualifications:• Qualified Accountant / Tax professional e.g. ACA, CTA or ATT• Strong project management skills• Capability to clearly explain complex tax issues to non-specialists• Strong stakeholder engagement skills• Proven experience in senior-level interactions with HMRCThis is a great opportunity to build an internal tax function for a successful and growing business.
