Sewell Wallis is seeking a skilled and driven Finance Leader to join a thriving team in a pivotal position, reporting directly to the Finance Director. This Head of Finance role is perfect for a qualified Accountant eager to make a meaningful contribution during an exciting period of change for the business.

As the Head of Finance, you will be a forward-thinking strategist capable of leading and motivating large finance teams, fostering a high-performance culture, and driving continuous improvement. With strong expertise in financial reporting, management accounting, treasury, accounts receivable/payable, and financial controls, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the organisation's financial governance and ensuring compliance with critical regulatory and audit standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements and manage external audit processes.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timely delivery of management accounts, working closely with internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee monthly cash flow forecasting and ensure precise balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and ensure VAT and tax compliance.
  • Strengthen the finance control environment, including overseeing treasury management and counter-fraud initiatives.
  • Champion best practices in external financial reporting and drive finance transformation projects.
  • Build and develop a high-performing finance team, with a focus on diversity, inclusion, and collaboration.
  • Inspire and engage staff, cultivating a culture of continuous improvement and compassionate leadership.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with substantial post-qualification experience.
  • Proven leadership experience in large, complex organisations.
  • Strong expertise in statutory financial reporting, management accounting, and external audits.
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to influence senior stakeholders.
