Role Overview:

  • Location: Sheffield / Chesterfield
  • Salary: Up to £45k+ depending on experience
  • Flexible Work Options: Potential for some hybrid/flexible working, but primarily office-based

Key Responsibilities:

  • Autonomously scope and deliver tax advisory projects to clients
  • Manage tax compliance work for OMB clients on behalf of the Directors
  • Play an essential role in the operation of the OMB team
  • Participate in business development activities

This role involves providing comprehensive tax compliance and advisory services to owner-managed businesses, including but not limited to:

  • Reviewing tax compliance for OMB clients, including corporation tax and income tax returns, P11Ds, and ERS returns
  • Monitoring tax deadlines for OMB clients to ensure timely compliance
  • Supporting OMB clients with ad hoc tax queries
  • Delivering tax advisory projects for OMB clients, including remuneration planning, share incentives and planning, property planning, reorganisations, and transactional work, with guidance from senior tax colleagues

Candidate Requirements:

  • Solid experience in tax compliance, with some exposure to tax advisory work
  • A proactive approach to managing planning and compliance assignments, with a willingness to take the lead
  • Strong understanding of tax regulations relevant to owner-managed businesses
  • Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple clients and deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex tax issues to clients
  • A professional qualification such as CTA, ACA, or ACCA is preferred, but not mandatory if equivalent experience is demonstrated
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
