VIM Melter - job spec
To work in a team operating VIM & VIDP furnaces.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Contribute to the safe and efficient operation of furnaces through:
* Safe crane handling of electrodes and moulds
* Maintenance of a high standard of housekeeping in line with safety and QA hazard audit requirements.
* Adherence to QA procedures and generating/maintaining prime melt records.
* Charge preparation, charge mixing and furnace loading.
* Refractory preparation.
* Mould preparation, setting and stripping.
* Loading/discharging of large clamshell heat treatment furnaces.
* General crane and forklift truck movements.
Demonstrable Experience of:
* Development/Improvement activities.
* Application of training.
* Positive attitude to safety & quality.
