Join Sheffield City Council's Parks & Countryside Department as a Grounds Maintenance Worker. This role is crucial in maintaining the beauty and safety of the city's parks and green spaces, ensuring they remain clean, safe, and attractive for the community.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Horticultural Maintenance: Operate machinery like ride-on mowers and use hand tools for grass cutting, hedge trimming, and pruning.
  • Litter Management: Manage and clean litter and dog bins and the surrounding areas.
  • General Maintenance: Conduct litter picking, remove fly-tipped rubbish, and install dog bins.
  • Improvement Work: Undertake painting, erect temporary fencing, and install signage to enhance park facilities.
  • Health & Safety: Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Client Interaction: Engage with clients as required to discuss maintenance needs and feedback.
  • Documentation: Accurately complete and record Waste Transfer Notes in compliance with legislation.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Responsible for driving and maintaining council vehicles.
  • Training: Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and meet job requirements.
  • Performance: Achieve performance targets as outlined in Service Level Agreements.
