As a Deputy Nurse Manager, you will:

  • Support the care home manager in all aspects of day-to-day operations.
  • Lead the home in the manager's absence.
  • Provide information, advice, and support to residents, families, and staff.
  • Ensure clinical oversight of all aspects of residents' care.
  • Promote residents' rights and encourage participation in activities.
  • Help residents access local services and community activities.
  • Monitor business performance and quality of care.
  • Ensure staff are up-to-date with current policies and practices.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise staff.
  • Work within the NMC codes of conduct.
  • Provide professional supervision to care and nursing staff.
  • Ensure effective communication with relatives and healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all aspects of care and management.
The ideal Deputy Nurse Manager will:

  • Have previous experience as a Clinical Lead Nurse or Deputy Nurse Manager in a similar setting.
  • Possess strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Be knowledgeable about NMC codes of conduct.
  • Have experience in recruiting, training, and supervising staff.
  • Be able to provide professional supervision to care and nursing staff.
  • Ensure effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of care and management.
