Technical Business Development Manager

 

Orion are currently working with an innovative, electrical manufacturing company based in South Yorkshire. Our client supplies their products into many industrial sectors and are looking for a self motivated results orientated Business Development Manager to join the team.

 

Technical Business Development Manager Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs and able to respond effectively with a solution.
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status
  • Generate leads and cold call prospective customers
  • Have a solid understanding of Low Voltage Switchgear systems.
  • Develop a good understanding of the businesses' products or services and be able to advise others about them
  • Work closely with Bid team to produce technically and commercially compliant bids to a very high quality.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to close deals while maintaining profitability and client satisfaction.
  • Nurture Customer relationship from initial enquiry through to delivery to stimulate repeat business.
  • Provide technical guidance to clients and internal teams to support product selection and application.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and technological advancements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their technical and commercial needs.
  • Key Account Management.
  • Attend seminars, conferences and events where appropriate

 

Technical Business Development Manager required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Business Administration or related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar role working with Low Voltage or Industrial Sectors (End user market)
  • Experience of Switchgear OEMs
  • Strong understanding of low voltage electrical systems, including design, application, and installation.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical and commercial challenges and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

 

Technical Business Development Manager Package:

  • Competitive Salary £45,000 - £55,000 DOE
