Are you a skilled and enthusiastic DT Technician looking for your next exciting role? Tradewind has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and proactive Design and Technology Technician to join a forward-thinking school in Rotherham. This is a full-time, immediate-start position where you will support the teaching of DT and ensure smooth running of the department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for Design and Technology lessons, assisting students and teachers with the use of equipment and materials.
  • Maintain and repair equipment and resources in the DT department to ensure they are safe and functional.
  • Prepare materials and tools for practical lessons, ensuring everything is set up efficiently for smooth classroom activities.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are met in the workshop and classroom, adhering to all relevant guidelines.
  • Assist in classroom management, providing guidance to students during practical sessions and ensuring a safe learning environment.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Experience as a DT Technician in a school or similar environment (preferably with exposure to woodwork, metalwork, and CAD equipment).
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the workshop and the ability to ensure compliance.
  • A proactive and problem-solving attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • A DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) and right to work in the UK.
