Overview

Join a prestigious law firm where excellence meets opportunity. We are seeking a Senior Probate Lawyer to conduct litigation, especially in matters related to contentious probate and help grow the firm’s volume of contentious trust and probate work. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work alongside talented professionals in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the Directors to develop new business
  • Develop and enhance the Wills, Trusts, and Probate offering within the department
  • Financial control with particular regard to cash flow control through collection of monies on account and billing procedures
  • Perform fee earning work accurately, reliably and in accordance with the firm's quality and risk procedures
  • Handle client matters
  • Assist colleagues during bottlenecks or leave periods
  • Manage support services
  • Participate in business development
  • Keep an eagle eye on financial control
  • Uphold quality standards
  • Attend departmental meetings and contribute
  • Woo new clients and maintain a network of contacts
  • Stay tech-savvy
  • Provide litigation support for Wills, Trusts, and Probate
  • Perform any other duties and work in any other areas as requested by the Company if necessary
Qualifications
  • At least 3 years PQE (Post-Qualification Experience) in litigation
  • Current caseload involving contentious trusts and probate matters
  • Ability to create and nurture relationships with key clients at all levels
  • Proven success in winning new clients through referrals and business development
  • Driven, with high integrity and energy
  • A team player who appreciates constructive criticism
  • Tech-savvy (Word, Outlook, Excel, and case management systems)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to work beyond regular hours when needed
  • Familiarity with court appearances in the County Court, Court of Protection, and the High Court
  • Ability to work with elderly, infirm, or disabled clients
Day-to-day
  • Monday to Friday - Office Hours - 9.00am - 5.00pm with 1 hour’s lunch break
