About the Role:

We are working with a special alloyed metals distributor to assist them in finding a Quality Manager to join their growing team. The business supplies OEMs, subcontractors, and other distributors, offering precision-cut materials sourced from a specialist French mill.

This is a pivotal opportunity for a quality-focused individual who can take ownership of internal process management and support compliance with aerospace quality standards (AS9120 / AS9100). While this is not an inspection-based role, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and improving quality processes across operations and will be in line to step up into an Operations Lead role over time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and improve internal quality processes, ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards.
  • Lead and coordinate quality management systems, particularly aligned with AS9120 and AS9100 standards.
  • Prepare for and manage audit processes, ensuring operational readiness and compliance.
  • Work closely with operations to ensure the accurate supply of cut materials to customer specifications.
  • Oversee and maintain control over raw material stock, subcontracted performance, and in-house storing processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and subcontractors to ensure technical product specifications are consistently met.
  • Support the development of quality-focused best practices, with a view to transition into a broader operations management role.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Strong background in quality management, with experience managing internal quality systems.
  • Familiarity with AS9120 and AS9100 aerospace standards and their audit requirements.
  • Experience working with technical specifications of products, ideally in metals, manufacturing, or engineering.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage processes across stock control, subcontracted work, and operational procedures.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a process improvement mindset.
  • Experience in a small business or SME environment would be advantageous.

Person Specification:

  • Process-Driven - Confident managing and improving operational and quality systems.
  • Technically Capable - Understands product specifications and manufacturing standards.
  • Audit-Savvy - Familiar with regulatory frameworks and able to lead audit readiness.
  • Leadership Potential - Eager to grow into a future operations leadership role.
  • Hands-On - Willing to be embedded in the day-to-day operations of a busy site.

What Our Client Offers:

  • A key role in a PE-backed business with strong growth potential.
  • A pathway into operations leadership for someone eager to step up.
  • A collaborative team culture with autonomy and responsibility.
  • Competitive salary and a business poised for investment and transformation.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, on-site full time.

If you’re a quality professional with a strong grasp of aerospace standards and internal process management, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and growing business with a clear route to future leadership. We’d love to hear from you!
