The Head of Procurement will be responsible for overseeing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. You will manage a large team and drive change across the department.

Description

As the Head of Procurement, you will be leading on the strategy, and managing a large team of procurement professionals. You will be working in a large complex environment. You would have a track record of dealing with large projects to implement change.

  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies.
  • Managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts.
  • Ensuring cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
  • Leading a team of procurement professionals.
  • Managing risk in the supply chain.
  • Overseeing procurement processes and systems.
  • Ensuring compliance with procurement regulations.
  • Contributing to the overall strategy of the Procurement & Supply Chain department.

Profile

A successful Head of Procurement should have:

  • An MCIPS level 6 or equivalent academic degree in business, economics, or a related field.
  • Experience in leading a procurement department, preferably in the Public Sector, Not For Profit / Education sector.
  • A proven track record of managing a large team in a complex environment. Led on transformation and change projects.
  • Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of contract management.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, systems, and regulations.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team

Please only apply if you have worked within the public sector/ not for profit at a senior head of or director level. You must have worked in a complex environment and driven change. You must be able to commute to south Yorkshire twice per week on have on-site presence.
