Process Assistant Payroll Needed!

Berry Recruitment is out looking for a Payroll Assistant that is looking for a long term opportunity.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for either an experienced Payroll Officer or someone that is looking to get into Payroll.

Contract details:

  • Initially 6 months with a possibility to go permanent.
  • Pay £12.27 per hour PAYE
  • Hybrid working - first couple months has to be full time in the office for training purposes.
  • Monday to Friday
  • DBS will be required

Day to Day:

  • Responsible for ensuring that all National or Local payroll changes are dealt with in accordance with requirements,and ensure all customers are understand the changes.
  • Reporting to the Payroll Manager for all aspects of payroll work, ensuring the continued smooth and effective running of the section and that all targets are met within defined deadlines.
  • Ensure that all manual under/overpayments are valid and correctly calculated and payments raised (if appropriate) on a timely basis.
  • Responsible for the completion of all basic payroll output for allocated payrolls and some higher level activities under the direction of the Payroll or Service Manager.

Skills:

  • Ideally previous experience in processing Payroll or at least supported with it.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, implement and communicate several complex terms and conditions of service within one organisation.
  • Understanding of PAYE, National Insurance.
  • Has an awareness of the law relating to payroll (i.e. employment rights and data protection)
  • Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
