Toolmaker

38 hours per week

Monday to Friday (early finish on a Friday)

Up to £30,000 plus overtime and benefits

As a Toolmaker, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining, repairing, and enhancing existing jigs, fixtures, form tools, and general tooling.
  • Creating new jigs, fixtures, form tools, and general tooling based on engineering drawings.
  • Collaborating with Tooling Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers to deliver cost-effective and efficient tooling solutions.
  • Responding effectively to breakdowns and assisting production teams.
  • Reporting issues to the Toolroom Supervisor or directly to stakeholders when necessary.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven proficiency in using manual machines like milling machines, radial arm drills, and surface & cylindrical grinders.
  • Expertise in hand and bench skills for jig and tool production and maintenance.
  • Experience with CNC operation and programming
  • Ability to interpret and understand engineering drawings.
  • Proven track record of producing parts to tight tolerances.
