- Raising of RFQ and purchase orders via our ERP System in accordance with the company procedures. Setting up vendor accounts and filling in credit application forms.
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price, reliability and delivery speed. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
- Reporting of any supply/quality issues via the non-conformance System.
- Manage supplier relationships, including performance evaluations and resolution of issues.
- Coordinate with internal departments to understand their procurement needs and priorities.
- Organising of full and part loads including container cargo from Europe, India and USA to UK ports. Arranging for customs clearance and arrange transport to our UK sites. Ensuring that all documentation is in order and stored in the relevant drives within our system.
- Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS)- desirable, not essential.
- Proven experience as an Assistant Buyer or in a similar procurement role.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.
- Knowledge of international procurement practices and import regulations.
