Elevation Recruitment Group is delighted to be working with a leading manufacturing business in Sheffield, known for its innovation and high-quality products, in their search for a dynamic and motivated Buyer.

As a Buyer, you will play a key role in the procurement of materials and services that are vital to manufacturing operations. Reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all purchasing activities are carried out efficiently and cost-effectively, helping the company maintain its competitive edge in the industry.

Key Buyer Responsibilities:
  • Managing supplier relationships to ensure the timely and cost-efficient procurement of raw materials, components, and services.
  • Conducting market research to identify new suppliers and negotiate competitive pricing and contracts.
  • Monitoring stock levels and placing orders to meet production demands.
  • Working closely with production and planning teams to ensure the availability of materials.
  • Identifying opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and supply chain optimisation.
  • Ensuring compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Managing and resolving any supplier issues or discrepancies.
Key Buyer Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role, ideally within the manufacturing/engineering sector.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple suppliers and stakeholders effectively.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused mindset, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience using procurement software or ERP systems.
  • CIPS qualification (or working towards) would be highly advantageous.
