GSL Education are currently looking for a passionate and dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join a vibrant school in Sheffield (S9). Responsibilities of the Behaviour Support Assistant:- Provide one-to-one and group support to students with behavioural and emotional challenges.
- Help students develop coping strategies to manage their emotions and behaviour in the classroom.
- Support classroom teachers in maintaining a positive and safe learning environment.
- Monitor and track students' progress and behaviour, reporting back to the teaching staff.
- Encourage positive behaviour and academic progress by offering praise and reinforcement.
- Work closely with the SENCO and other support staff to implement personalised learning plans.
- Promote inclusivity and ensure every student is treated with respect and dignity.
- Previous experience working with children, particularly those with behavioural needs (desirable but not essential).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students in challenging situations.
- Good organisational skills and a proactive attitude to problem-solving.
- A passion for making a positive impact in students' lives.
- A current DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures (mandatory).
