About the Role:

As a Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) in Sheffield, you will support students with a range of special educational needs. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to create an inclusive learning environment, empowering students to thrive and excel in all areas of their lives!

Key Responsibilities of Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Support Individual Learning Plans: Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans for students with SEN.
  • Provide Targeted Support: Offer one-on-one and small group support tailored to students' needs, ensuring they receive the attention and assistance required to succeed.
  • Monitor Progress: Track and assess student progress, adapting support strategies as necessary to ensure each student is progressing towards their goals.
  • Collaborate with Staff and Parents: Work closely with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to each student's education and well-being.
  • Create a Positive Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported.
  • Engage and Motivate Students: Use a variety of methods to engage and motivate students, catering to different learning styles and preferences.
  • Maintain Records: Keep detailed records of each student's progress, including assessments, observations, and feedback, and communicate this information to relevant parties.

Requirements of Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Experience: Prior experience in supporting students with SEN is essential.
