Shift Patterns: 08:30-16:30, Monday - Friday

Are you a qualified Speech and Language Therapist looking to work within a friendly and supportive team to give patients a high level of support and care?

Sheffield Teaching Hospital are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to work within the acute wards across 3 Hospitals in Sheffield. The Northern General, the Royal Hallamshire and Weston Park Hospitals. In this role, you will provide clinical Speech & Language Therapy to a defined specialised caseload as part of the acute hospital team, working with adults with voice, swallowing and communication disorders.

In this role you will be required to:

  • Evaluate patients to identify speech, language, voice, fluency and swallowing disorders
  • To make a differential diagnosis on client’s communication/swallowing based on evidence from assessment seeking advice as appropriate.
  • Develop treatment plans based on assessment results and patient needs in order to improve speech, language the communication skills.
  • Work with patients experiencing dysphagia to improve their ability to safely swallow food and liquids

What you’ll need:

  • Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent
  • Registered with HCPC
  • Dysphagia experience / accreditation, including management of complex dysphagia
  • The successful candidate will have previously worked in acute hospital wards

In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of:

  • Relevant Qualifications
  • Registration with the relevant Registration Body if applicable.
