The Role
As an Assistant Planner / Planner, you will be involved in a wide range of planning projects, including:
- Supporting the allocation of sites through the Local Plan process.
- Preparing and submitting planning applications for residential-led developments, including complex brownfield and Green Belt sites.
- Advising clients on development potential and planning strategies.
- Assisting with planning appeals and policy research.
- Drafting representations for planning consultations and examinations.
- Identifying land opportunities and working closely with clients, senior planners, and external stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
About You
- Previous experience in a Planning role within local government, consultancy, or the development industry.
- A relevant Town Planning qualification (or working towards one).
- Membership of RTPI or actively working towards accreditation.
- Strong understanding of the planning process and regulations.
- Excellent writing and research skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Confident communicator with a proactive and team-focused approach.
- Passionate about the built and natural environment.
- Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.
