Assistant Planner / Planner - Sheffield

The Role

As an Assistant Planner / Planner, you will be involved in a wide range of planning projects, including:

  • Supporting the allocation of sites through the Local Plan process.
  • Preparing and submitting planning applications for residential-led developments, including complex brownfield and Green Belt sites.
  • Advising clients on development potential and planning strategies.
  • Assisting with planning appeals and policy research.
  • Drafting representations for planning consultations and examinations.
  • Identifying land opportunities and working closely with clients, senior planners, and external stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.

About You

  • Previous experience in a Planning role within local government, consultancy, or the development industry.
  • A relevant Town Planning qualification (or working towards one).
  • Membership of RTPI or actively working towards accreditation.
  • Strong understanding of the planning process and regulations.
  • Excellent writing and research skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with a proactive and team-focused approach.
  • Passionate about the built and natural environment.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.
