As a Junior Sous Chef, you will support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen. You will help lead the team, ensure the quality and consistency of dishes, and contribute to menu development while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef with daily kitchen operations, including preparation, cooking, and plating.
  • Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, ensuring smooth kitchen operations during service.
  • Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and portion control.
  • Contribute to menu development by bringing creative ideas for new dishes and improving existing ones.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of kitchen supplies and ingredients, assisting with orders and stock management.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including hygiene standards and proper food handling procedures.
  • Step in to run the kitchen during the Sous Chef or Head Chefs absence, managing the team and ensuring service is delivered to the highest standard.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef role, preferably in a high-end or busy restaurant/hotel kitchen.
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen operations.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality output.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate kitchen staff.
  • Creative flair with a passion for food and a desire to contribute to menu development.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen health and safety standards.
