Transport Planner required for a thriving temperature-controlled storage and distribution business based in Evercreech, near Shepton Mallet.

General Overview

Operating in the FMCG sector, we offer both cross dock and storage & picking services for a variety of temperature-controlled foodstuffs from our own 5 warehouse facility.

We also provide distribution throughout the UK & Europe with our fleet of 60 vehicles, primarily offering a 'groupage' service as well as full load movements with professionalism and efficiency.

Due to a team member relocating, we are looking to recruit a skilled and experienced 'team player' to join our busy transport operation as a Traffic Planner. If you are looking for a dynamic work environment and have a passion for transportation and logistics, we would love to hear from you.

The Position

The Transport Planner requires a logical-thinking candidate who can work methodically under pressure, with good communication skills and strong geographical knowledge. The role will involve efficient and cost-effective route planning through our TMS, as well as liaising with customers, drivers, and other departments within the business.

It is essential that the Transport Planner can work both independently and as a team member, contributing, sharing, and building ideas together to achieve the smooth running of the Traffic Planner transport operation.

Shift

Various shifts between 05:00 - 21:00 Monday to Friday. Weekend, Bank Holiday, and on-call cover on a rota basis.

Skills Required
  • Traffic planning.
  • Knowledge of tachograph legislation.
  • Prioritising work to meet time deadlines.
  • Quick thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • IT skills - TMS, Outlook, Word & Excel.
  • Effective communication skills, verbal & electronic.
  • Geographical knowledge.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Positive can-do attitude and happy to work as a team.

Salary Range
