Role Profile:As a Tax Assistant, you will be a key team member from day one, working closely with a dedicated senior team and reporting directly to the Head of Tax. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining personal tax records and assisting with complex UK self-assessment tax returns, capital gains computations, and income forecasts.
  • Implementing Making Tax Digital for Income Tax (MTD ITSA) and submitting required reports.
  • Preparing compliant property rental income and expenditure information for tax returns.
  • Preparing VAT returns for sole traders and finalising income tax reporting.
  • Monitoring and tracking venture capital scheme tax relief claims, maintaining corporation tax records, and ensuring timely submissions.
  • Providing technical support for various tax questions and undertaking ad-hoc tax and investment-related projects.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Keen to progress in Tax, seeking a varied and interesting role.
  • Studying for the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) qualification with a minimum of 12 months relevant experience.
  • Confident, flexible, and highly organised.
  • Excellent administration and communication skills.
  • Integrity, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Tactful, diplomatic, and approachable.
  • Strong IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office and accounting software.
