Castlefield Recruitment is delighted to partner with The Priestley Academy Trust on their search to recruit a Head of Estates. The Trust play a crucial role in the lives of children within the local community and have identified this position within their Estates Team as vital to the overall operation of the Trust. ? The Priestley Academy Trust operates under their five core values: Respect, Responsibility, Excellence, Compassion and Collaboration.

The Trust currently comprises of six primary schools, each with an Executive Headteacher/Headteacher/Head of School and is based in the Bradford area of West Yorkshire. It was formed to create a local solution in providing outstanding education and to enable the schools to work together to increase capacity for sustaining real school improvement for the benefit of their learners.

The Head of Estates position provides an exciting opportunity to play a key role within the Trust and will cover all areas of a varied school estate - which includes two Grade II listed buildings.

It would suit an individual who is looking for a career opportunity which will create value in a school setting and genuinely impact positively on young lives. The Role

  • Manage all aspects of the Trust’s estate
  • Provide long-term comprehensive and integrated resource planning for the Trust
  • Provide effective leadership and management of health, safety and environmental matters for the Trust
  • Focussed to support the achievement of the Trust’s key corporate objectives in the development of the estate
  • Well managed and operationally effective, having in place robust and efficient systems and processes relating to all aspects of its activities

The Person

  • Educated to degree standard in a relevant discipline or hold equivalent experience
  • Relevant management experience in estates and facilities management or in a related field with a demonstrably successful track record
  • Broad experience both in the preparation and control of development programmes, building and engineering projects and in managing facility operations and maintenance services
  • Extensive knowledge of health and safety and practices
