We are currently recruiting a Business Development Manager with responsibility for driving revenue growth by developing and executing strategic sales plans, managing key client relationships, and leading a team of customer service and sales staff. This role requires an experienced sales expert with excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve company objectives.
- Identify new business opportunities and market trends to expand the companys market presence.
- Set sales targets, KPIs, and performance metrics for the sales team.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships with key accounts.
- Understand client needs and provide tailored solutions to meet their requirements.
- Conduct regular meetings with clients to ensure satisfaction and address any issues promptly.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of customer service and sales staff to achieve their targets.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the teams skills and knowledge.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Sales Operations:
- Oversee the entire sales process, from lead generation to closing deals.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of sales activities and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with other internal departments to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction.
Market Analysis and Reporting:
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to stay informed about industry trends and competitors.
- Provide regular reports on sales performance, market conditions, and business development activities to senior management.
- Develop and manage sales budgets and forecasts.
Compliance and Ethics:
- Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
- Maintain a high level of integrity and professionalism in all business dealings.
Qualifications, knowledge & skills
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a senior sales management role.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Knowledge of the UK building services market and industry-specific trends.
- Experience of sales to mechanical and electrical building contractors.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and drive results.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel within the UK as required.
