We are seeking a dedicated Accounts Receivable Assistant to join our finance team. This role is crucial for managing account reconciliation and payment processing, while maintaining accurate financial records to support efficient cash flow operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts receivable and accounts payable, with excellent analytical and reconciliation skills.
Day-to-day of the role:- Perform customer account reconciliations, including Amazon and historical reconciliations, as well as reconciliation to customer portals.
- Ensure correct accounting for rebates, settlement discounts, and marketing support, including raising the relevant credit notes.
- Handle new credit application requests and allocate customer payments on account.
- Manage the accounts receivable and documents mailboxes, distributing emails to the correct team member.
- Liaise with customers and the Supply Chain team to manage invoice disputes and ensure timely receipt of supporting documentation.
- Post ad hoc credit notes to customer accounts raised by Supply Chain relating to damages, faulty items, logistics, etc.
- Record and reconcile non-credit facility customers paying deposits, ensuring goods are not ordered or sent prior to payment.
- Regularly review and maintain customer card data stored in the accounting system.
- Oversee the collection of B2B accounts and provide support during team absences.
- Support Accounts Receivable functions to cover annual leave and handle ad hoc finance requests.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIF, IF).
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and account reconciliation.
- Experience with Navision and knowledge of invoice finance facilities preferred.
- Understanding of internal controls practices and experience with Amazon is advantageous.
- Must have experience in both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a strong focus on maintaining precise records.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Undertake any other functions or tasks that may be required from time to time, within the span of knowledge and capability.
