Due to continuing growth and promotion, we have a requirement for a Purchasing & Quality Manager, who will have overall responsibility for all Purchasing and Goods-in Quality Control, including leading a Purchasing team of 4 and 3 in the Quality Department.

The business converts industrial materials handling equipment, for the detection of gas and explosives in hazardous areas, ensuring compliance to ATEX, Ex and IEC Ex, therefore we will be looking for a highly experienced Purchasing & Quality Manager with extensive material control, supplier engagement and parts supply experience gained within a manufacturing or engineering industry, who will have managed supply of fabricated and machined products and electronic and electrical proprietary components.

It is expected that you will be MCIPS qualified.

You will have a solid working history, and demonstrable experience of day-to-day operational, medium and long-term tactical and strategic processes, activities and deliverables, comprehensive knowledge of MRP systems across supply chain functionality, budget, spend, strong people management skills, including performance and development, and experience of supplier selection, quality, audit and understanding of supply risk control. Some overseas travel is required.

The position is also responsible for ensuring material flow from suppliers through stores and to production is maintained effectively and efficiently, so each business division receives material delivery to schedules and is kept informed of status.

Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will work on strategic business planning meetings, planning, forecasting,reporting, analyzing and interpreting data.

We are looking for someone who is dynamic, proactive, driven and tenacious, who can step into a highly regulated business working within strict compliance and quality.

Benefits

The salary range for this role is £50,000 to £55,000, 25 days holiday with the option to purchase an additional 10 days of holiday, health cash plan, 5% employer pension contribution, life assurance, employee assistance programme plus a range of other benefits and well being initiatives.
