Alexander Daniels are recruiting for a Cooperate Accountant (Rent and Service Charge) to join a successful finance team in Shropshire. You will be overseeing the development and management of the Rent and Service Charge Assistant, as well as leading the work on Group Rent reviews on systems administration etc. This opportunity is 1 day a week onsite in Shropshire with some flexible hours/overtime available.
- To oversee the development and management of the Rent & Service Charge Assistant (1 FTE)
- Lead on the Group rent reviews including system administration for new developments and disposals to ensure compliant with current legislations and maximisation of income.
- Lead on the Group service charge setting and reviews including system administration of the service charge module to ensure compliant with best practice and legislation.
- Provide a management accounts service for areas of responsibility.
- Support the statutory accounts production process including completion of reconciliations, supporting schedules.
- Produce annual rent and service charge data for review by the Financial Control & Compliance Manager and Head of Finance, in line with internal and legislative deadlines. Co-ordinate the issuing of Rent and Service charge statements and rent review notifications.
- Complete Rent month end procedures including Actuals to budget variance analysis, ensure that systems reconcile on a monthly basis validating additions and disposals.
- Lead on the maintenance and continuous improvement and development of the service charge software and reporting working alongside the service charge working group.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Management Accounts
- Budgetary control
- Significant high level experience of Rent Legislation
- Relevant experience of Variable Service Charges, Sinking Funds
- Relevant experience of S20 legislation
- Knowledge of Fixed Service Charges
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g. excel, word etc.) and computerised financial systems
- Knowledge of IFRS and FRS102
- Relevant qualification experience
- Significant experience providing accountancy services in a medium to large sized organisation.
- Knowledge of Component accounting
- Experience of Social Housing Finance
Qualifications:
- AAT qualification
- Part Qualified CCAB (ICA, ACCA, ICMA, CIPFA) or qualified by experience.
