Kenton Black are working with an established and friendly firm in the Shrewsbury area who due to continued expansion are seeking to appoint Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant to join their team undertaking with accounts/bookkeeping and VAT duties. This Hybrid role requires the candidate to have strong bookkeeping skills with knowledge of VAT returns to undertake bookkeeping via Xero and Quickbooks from client's records and then prepare VAT returns and statutory accounts . The successful candidate will ideally be AAT qualified or can work to that standard with a solid knowledge of Xero/Quickbooks and experience of preparing VAT returns in a similar role within an accountancy environment. This position is available either full or part time (min 30hrs for part time)

Your New Role As Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant:
You will be responsible for bookkeeping/accounts duties for a variety of clients and in addition be able to prepare VAT returns with previous experience of working within a similar role within accountancy using Xero/Quickbooks. You will be be passionate about providing a great service to clients and be able to hit the ground running.
Day to Day Duties :
Bookkeeping/Accounts duties on a monthly via Xero/Quickbooks
Preparing statutory accounts, tax computations
Reconciliations and month end and year end procedures
Processing payments, invoices
VAT preparation for quarterly returns
Client liaison via email and telephone
Experience & Qualifications Required To Apply:
Ideally you will have c 2yrs+ previous bookkeeping/VAT returns experience within accountancy practice
Xero/Quickbooks software experience
Strong client liaison skills
