My client, a specialist UK based Engineering Consultancy which specialises in Drainage, Civil and Structural Engineering, is searching for a Principal Consultant to join an established team of Flood Risk and Drainage specialists based in Shrewsbury.
It is essential that applicants have a strong academic background in a relevant discipline including a BSc and/or MSc in a relevant discipline and have achieved or are close to achieving Chartered Status.
Applicants are also required to have experience working for a UK based Consultancy or Local Authority specialising in Hydrology, Flood Risk Assessments, Surface Water Management Plans, Surface Water Drainage Strategies, Drainage Strategies and Mapping.
You are also required to have experience managing and mentoring teams, managing projects and preparing bids and developing new business opportunities with Clients.
It is also beneficial for applicants to reside locally as you will be expected to work from the office.
As a Principal Consultant you will join a specialist flood risk team based in Shrewsbury. You will be expected to manage, review and check technical work spanning Hydrological Assessments, LowFlows, Flood Risk Assessments, Flood Consequence Assessments, Flood Mapping, Surface Water Management Plans and Drainage Strategies.
You will also complete the following;
-Liaise with Clients to discuss project development and progress. You will work with Housing Developers, Investment Companies and Local Authorities.
-Prepare bids and tenders.
-Develop new business opportunities with new and existing Clients.
-You will also have the opportunity to liaise with Clients to promote the services of the Company, including a new in-house developed flood modelling software.
-Assist with Company growth and recruitment of new staff when needed.
