Stock Accountant

We are working with a well-established business, based in Shrewsbury, we are looking for a Stock Accountant on a permanent basis. This is a newly created role with the main objective being to operate as a key link between sales, operations and finance functions. The main tasks of the role will be to complete stock checks, operate control systems, report on stock levels and have ownership of audits.

You will be responsible for:

  • Carry out periodic reviews of items ordered against physical locations.
  • Periodic parts stock checks of group depots/companies.
  • Create and maintain a system for equipment locations and documents.
  • Assist and ownership of stocking funder audits.
  • Reporting on stock levels; KPIs.
  • Statutory Audit ownership of the stock control process.
  • Stocking/HP Funding.
  • Assisting with month end/year end tasks.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will hold at least an AAT level 2 qualification or equivalent. The individual will need to be able to work independently and be self-motivated. They should also process strong problem-solving skills and have a keen eye for detail. Its important to have business partnering skills and able to work well with others. This role will require travel round all group companies so a full driving license is essential.
