Interim HR Advisor

Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire / Office BasedSalary: £18.60 an hour

I am seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join my client's team and play a key role in supporting their people strategy. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong HR background, particularly within OFSTED-regulated environments, safeguarding, and Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) reporting.You must be immediately available to start - opportunity for a temporary to permanent assignment.

Key Responsibilities:

HR Support & Employee Relations

  • Provide expert HR advice and guidance to managers on all people-related matters, ensuring alignment with employment law and best practices.
  • Manage employee relations cases, including grievances, disciplinary actions, performance management, and conflict resolution.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract and retain top talent in the care sector.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are kept up to date and in line with OFSTED and employment law regulations.

Compliance & Safeguarding

  • Ensure HR practices align with OFSTED requirements and care sector regulations.
  • Support managers with safer recruitment processes, including DBS checks, Right to Work, and reference checks.
  • Take a lead role in safeguarding concerns, working closely with managers to ensure compliance with best practices and reporting procedures.
  • LADO Reporting - Support and advise managers on reporting safeguarding concerns to the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) and ensure compliance with statutory guidelines.
  • Conduct investigations into safeguarding concerns, ensuring appropriate action is taken in line with legal and regulatory requirements.

Training & Development

  • Assist in designing and delivering HR and safeguarding training for managers and staff.
  • Promote a positive safeguarding culture by embedding safeguarding principles in HR policies and daily operations.
  • Support the development and implementation of well-being initiatives to create a supportive work environment for all staff.

HR Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate HR records, ensuring compliance with GDPR and data protection regulations.
  • Monitor and report on absence management, staff turnover, and HR metrics to support business decisions.
  • Assist in HR projects related to employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, and workforce planning.

Key Requirements:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous experience in an HR role within the care industry, ideally in an OFSTED-regulated environment
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, safeguarding procedures, and safer recruitment.
  • Experience with LADO reporting and managing safeguarding concerns within a care setting.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to support and guide managers and staff.
  • Ability to handle sensitive issues with confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
