Operations Manager

Operations Manager Salary Range - £40,000 - £45,000 + performance bonus

Job Type - Permanent

Orion is partnered with a well-established Waste Management business located in Shrewsbury, which is recruiting for an experienced and proactive Operations Manager.

The Operations Manager will oversee the operation of the waste processing site at Wem Shropshire and the tyre collection activity in accordance with strategic planning, budgetary planning, operational best practice, and in compliance with all legislation and regulations relating to collection and disposal of waste tyres and rubber.  

This is an exciting opportunity to grow and develop your own team on site as well as progress and give real input into the companies growth plans.

Role & Responsibilities of the Operations Manager:

  • Coordination, management, and monitoring of the workings of various departments in the Kingpin business.
  • Participating and contributing to the financial budget development.
  • Providing Operational reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Providing Directors with business performance feedback.
  • Establishing strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and regulatory and sector bodies to ensure business success.
  • Actively supporting the Directors in execution of their duties in management of the business activities of the Group.
  • Encouraging and supporting collaboration across departments and takes actions that are best for the individual.

The Operations Manager is broadly responsible for operational continuity and performance of the business through:

  • Always ensuring efficient functioning and timely delivery of all the business services and site processing activities through effective planning and execution.
  • Measuring and reporting the performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability of the business with an objective to continually improve and develop performance.
  • Recruiting, train and develop staff to meet the needs of the business.
  • Ensure so far as is reasonably and practicable, the health and safety and welfare of all employees under your supervision. To arrange suitable training and provide appropriate information and guidance on health and safety.
  • Actively managing and coordinating fleet, plant, and equipment maintenance, testing, upgrade and repair as required to meet the changing requirements of a growing business.
  • Supporting and assisting the Sales Team in performance of business development and sales.

 

Requirements for the Operations Manager:

  • COTC level 4
  • COTC '' Level 1 & 2 and working towards level 4 would be negotiable.
  • Experience managing a team
  • Experience in Waste Management
  • Experience running day to day operations in a heavy industrial environment
  • Experience with managing new equipment/machinery installation

 

Operations Manager Benefits:

  • Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Performance Related Bonus
  • 20x days annual leave + Bank Holidays
