An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Company Secretarial to lead and manage a dynamic company secretarial team. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring compliance with all legal and administrative requirements, overseeing processes such as LPE1 forms, pre-sales, completions, director appointments, company record updates, consents, Land Registry registrations, and governance matters.We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in company secretarial duties, governance, and team leadership.Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Management:• Lead, mentor, and develop the company secretarial team, ensuring high performance and professional growth.• Allocate workloads efficiently to meet all deadlines and maintain operational excellence.• Act as the main point of contact between the CoSec department and senior management.• Implement best practices for company secretarial processes and ensure efficient team operations.Company Secretarial & Compliance Duties:• Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all company secretarial operations, including statutory filings and governance matters.• Maintain and update company records, including director appointments and statutory registers.• Oversee compliance with company law and regulatory requirements.• Manage consents (to let, alter, pets, etc.) and ensure compliance with leasehold obligations.• Handle Land Registry registrations and governance-related documentation, such as Memorandum & Articles of Association, deeds of covenant, and special resolutions.• Support the administration of AGMs, board meetings, and governance-related meetings, including preparing agendas, minutes, and resolutions.• Ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection regulations.Stakeholder Engagement:• Liaise with external advisors, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders.• Communicate effectively with clients, leaseholders, and property managers on company secretarial matters.• Provide guidance and training to internal teams on governance and compliance best practices.Person Specification:Essential Skills & Experience:• Previous experience in a senior company secretarial role, preferably within the property management or real estate sector.• Strong knowledge of company law, governance, and statutory compliance.• Proven experience in team leadership and performance management.• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.• High attention to detail and accuracy.• Proficiency in company secretarial software and Microsoft Office.Desirable Qualifications:• Chartered Secretary qualification (ICSA/CGI) or equivalent experience.• Legal qualification (LLB, LPC, or equivalent) would be advantageous.• Experience working with property management or residential leasehold companies.• Understanding of conveyancing processes related to leasehold properties.Benefits:• Competitive salary (dependent on experience).• Company pension scheme.• 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.• Career development and training opportunities.• A supportive and collaborative working environment.This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to take on a leadership role in a well-established and growing team.
