Job Description:-

We are currently seeking passionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join a specialist primary school in Shrewsbury. The school provides a stimulating environment for children aged 3 to 11 years old, who have a statement of Autism or related communication disorders as their primary need. About the Role:-

  • Establish supportive, caring, and secure relationships with children, promoting respect, self-esteem, and a positive attitude.
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of the specific academic, physical, emotional, and behavioural/medical needs of the children, responding to them effectively.
  • Support pupils with social and emotional needs in the learning process, working either 1:1 or with small groups, closely collaborating with the Class Teacher.
  • Set up classrooms, prepare resources and displays, and assist the class teacher with other classroom aspects as required.

About You:

  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS.
  • Minimum of 2 years of referencing.
  • Excellent and inspirational classroom practitioner, demonstrating outstanding classroom practice with children at the heart of all you do.
  • High expectations of pupils achievement and behaviour.
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Experience working with children or adults in a caring capacity.
  • Transferable skills such as teamwork, initiative, flexibility, adaptability, remaining calm under pressure, caring, and helpful.
  • Right to work in the UK.
