Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking for a new opportunity?
A leading multi-disciplinary design & build contractor is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyorto join their team at Hinkley Point C in Somerset on a permanent staff basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to contribute to one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects, delivering Mechanical and Electrical Fabrication and Installation contracts within the turbine hall of the Hinkley Point C Nuclear New Build.
Key Responsibilities: Quantity Surveyor
- Ensure the Construction team achieves best value outcomes to meet company commercial targets.
- Adhere to contractual processes and company commercial governance.
- Apply significant commercial experience with NEC and FIDIC suite of contracts.
- Produce and negotiate contracts to secure the best terms for the business.
- Prepare monthly site valuation and work progress reports.
- Evaluate and prepare project payment applications.
- Verify subcontractor monthly claims and conduct site measurements.
- Ensure pricing documents, BQ, contract documents, and quotation submissions are accurate and in order.
- Costing and preparation of pricing documents for submissions.
- Monitor and control project budgets, cash flow, and forecasting.
- Coordinate with contractors and site personnel to support senior team reporting.
- Support Head Office in purchasing compliant materials and liaising with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
Key Skills & Experience Required: Quantity Surveyor
- Strong commercial focus.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveyor role on large projects.
- Experience with FIDIC and NEC contracts.
- Excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
- Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a relevant field.
- Chartered status or working towards Chartership.
- Nuclear experience preferred but not essential.
- CSCS MAPS H&S Test certification.
