A CAD Production Designer is required to join a well-established and reputable bespoke kitchen furniture manufacturer based in Sidcup, Kent. This is a full-time, permanent role offering the chance to work with a respected brand known for its high-quality cabinetry and tailor-made furniture solutions.
The successful applicant will work closely with both the factory and the sales office, creating detailed technical production drawings that support the manufacturing process. They will be involved in developing drawings for both standard and bespoke cabinet solutions that incorporate advanced fittings and functional solutions.
This position would suit candidates with a background in design or CAD at GCSE, A-Level, or higher education level, and who are confident using Solidworks, Cabinet Vision, or similar CAD systems. The company will also consider trainee applicants who can demonstrate a strong commitment to design and provide relevant examples of their work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce accurate and detailed CAD production drawings to support the manufacture of bespoke kitchen and fitted furniture
- Interpret project briefs to create plans, elevations, and technical specifications in line with design requirements
- Liaise with the sales and factory teams to ensure product feasibility and manufacturing practicality
- Incorporate technical fittings and functional components into design outputs
- Use CAD software such as Solidworks, Cabinet Vision, or equivalent
- Work to agreed deadlines and manage time effectively
- Ensure high levels of accuracy and quality in all technical documentation
- Understand and apply knowledge of kitchen appliances and integrated equipment where required
Desirable Experience:
- Previous experience in a CAD or production design role, ideally within the furniture or kitchen manufacturing sector
- Understanding of cabinetry construction and furniture assembly
- Familiarity with built-in appliances and high-end kitchen components
- Excellent computer literacy and strong attention to detail
- Strong communication and numeracy skills
Qualifications and Training:
- GCSE, A-Level or Degree in a design-related subject preferred
- Trainee applicants will be considered, particularly those who have studied Design at A-Level or higher, and can provide examples of relevant projects
- Full training on the company's product range will be provided
