A Despatch Assistant is required to join the team at a long-established and highly respected bespoke furniture manufacturer based in Sidcup, Kent. This is a full-time, permanent role suited to a reliable and detail-focused individual with a practical mindset.
The role involves preparing high-quality furniture and panels for delivery. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The role also involves reading work instructions and drawings to ensure all outgoing products meet the company's high standards.
Flexibility is important, as the role may require additional hours or occasional delivery assistance. A full UK driving licence is desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and prepare high-end furniture and panels for delivery
- Work from written instructions and technical drawings
- Maintain high attention to detail in all aspects of preparation and packaging
- Operate independently while adhering to company quality standards
- Support loading and unloading processes as needed
- Provide assistance with local deliveries when required (if holding a valid UK driving licence)
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality and a committed work ethic
Desirable Experience:
- Previous experience in a despatch, warehouse, or furniture assembly role
- Familiarity with handling high-end furniture or joinery components
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation
- Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
Training and Development:
- Full on-the-job training will be provided for the right candidate. Experience is preferred, but individuals with a practical approach and willingness to learn will also be considered.
