Reed Recruitment is collaborating with a top 30 practice to recruit an Audit Senior for their expanding office in Maidstone. This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a technologically advanced office that serves a diverse range of clients, including large UK subsidiaries of international groups, SMEs, and owner-managed businesses, with specialisms in academy schools and charities.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Reporting to managers and, in some instances, directly to partners.
  • Frequent client interactions during audit fieldwork and at planning/closing meetings.
  • Providing guidance and support to more junior colleagues.
  • Engaging in both audit and accounts preparation, requiring a strong understanding of reporting standards.
  • Utilizing strong IT skills, particularly in MS Office products like Excel and Word.
  • Working with CaseWare Accounts Production and Audit software, with training provided if necessary.
  • Balancing time between not-for-profit clients (50-60%) and commercial clients (40-50%), with some travel and occasional overnight stays required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Motivated and hard-working individual from a practice background with an ACA or ACCA qualification.
  • Demonstrable practical accountancy and communication skills.
  • Experience auditing charities and academies is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Strong attention to detail, proactive approach, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Confidence in building rapport and managing professional relationships with clients.
  • Organised with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
  • Annual bonus (not guaranteed).
  • Flexible working hours between 8.30am to 5.00pm or 9.00am to 5.30pm, with flexibility over working hours by agreement.
  • Flexible working arrangements post-Covid, with expectations to be in the office at least 50% of the time when not out at clients.
  • 25 days holiday plus statutory bank/public holidays.
  • Option to purchase up to extra days leave in salary sacrifice.
