I am working for a well established but niche distributor who supply product directly into Tier 1-3 contractors across the UK. They are well known for their expertise, excellent customer service and on-site optimisation facilities to tailor products to each project.

Due to expansion, they are now looking for a Sales/Account Manager to join the team of 4 in Sittingbourne. The role will be a mixture of Account management of key clients as well as proactive sales to secure "new" business although most of the customers are already known to the organisation already! Duties will include:

  • Building bespoke quotations/ estimations at client request for both straight forward sales transactions and large tender projects
  • Updating CRM system with key dates and information
  • Following up quotations to secure sales/orders
  • Making proactive calls to key clients to discuss potential tenders and build a pipeline of potential business
  • Building relationships with new clients
  • Working towards a revenue and margin target
  • My client predicts circa £480k revenue will be generated by an existing portfolio in this role and circa £120k will be won through proactive sales

The perfect candidate for the role:

  • Memorable with a consultative focus and not too salesy
  • Ideally from a construction supply background- trade counter, B2B supply businesses etc.
  • Self-motivated
