I am supporting an amazing Kent based charity with their search for an Events Specialist to manage and enhance their diverse events calendar, including mass-participation, challenge, and sponsored events. This role is crucial for maximising income opportunities and expanding their supporter base through effective event management and engaging stewardship.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Collaborate with the Senior Events Manager to strategize and oversee the annual events calendar, ensuring alignment with budget and organizational goals.
  • Lead the innovation and execution of event initiatives to boost income, enhance ROI, and attract new audiences.
  • Manage the entire event lifecycle from planning and budgeting to execution and post-event analysis.
  • Negotiate with third-party event organisers to secure advantageous opportunities for the organisation.
  • Coordinate with the Voluntary Services Department to ensure effective volunteer involvement.
  • Oversee the creation and update of digital content across web and social media platforms, ensuring seamless team integration.
  • Stay abreast of marketing trends and benchmark against industry standards to refine event strategies.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communication plans for all events, continuously evaluating their effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with brand and digital teams to maximise marketing efforts.
  • Support the Senior Events Manager in enhancing supporter journeys to improve participant retention.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines related to events and fundraising.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in event management, preferably within a charity or non-profit sector.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Proficient in digital marketing and social media strategy.
  • Knowledge of current trends in event management and fundraising.
  • Commitment to compliance with Fundraising Regulator and Institute of Fundraising guidelines.
