The Supermarket Operations Manager ensures compliance across all sites, supporting the onboarding and development of Retail Managers while maintaining due diligence and operational standards of the grocery side of their business.

This is a 12month contract role focusing on ensuring all licensed sites meet operational, stock & cash regulations whilst driving revenue.

Key Responsibilities of this Supermarket Operations Manager - Nationwide role -

  • Collaborate with head office to manage sales/margin performance against plan.
  • Helps with the EPOS system in-store trials, and rollout program.
  • Establish & implement new & improved stock management and inventory process.
  • Ensures all parks comply with operations requirements, including licensing, policies (like lottery), procedures, customer communication, and risk assessments.
  • Analyses past sales performance and trends to forecast future product needs.
  • Ensures store-level compliance with national promotions, including stock availability, POS for each promotional period.
  • Audit the Retail Managers in ensuring full implementation of food safety frameworks and SOPs.
  • To inform the company growth strategy and action plan for grocery categories.
  • Builds relationships with teams through regular visits and conference calls.
  • Monitors and audits 3rd party key partners.

Requirements for this Supermarket Operations Manager - Nationwide role-

  • Ideally having experience as a supermarket or convenience sector within an area manager, operations, compliance, or area management level.
  • You must have 3-6 years of managerial experience leading large team
  • This would suit someone focused on are compliance, audit or operational role
  • This would be a 12-month FTC, potential to be made to a prem role.
  • Need to still be commercially focused with someone who can grow retail sales and profit margin contribution.
  • Able to travel! This role is on average 1 day a week in their HO in Essex/Herts and 75% spending your teams of people on site!
  • Highly organised - you will organise your diary in accordance to the requirements needed.
  • Experience of awareness of the gambling commission and other compliance & auditory boards would be advantageous but not essential.
