Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality RE lessons across key stages.
  • Inspire students to explore and critically engage with a range of religious beliefs, ethical perspectives, and cultural traditions.
  • Create a respectful, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring a safe and positive learning space for all students.
  • Provide constructive feedback and communicate progress with students and families.
  • Lead exam preparation and deliver focused revision sessions.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities related to religious education.
  • Stay informed of changes to the RE curriculum and best practices.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-curricular learning opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievements.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, and a degree in Religious Education or a related subject.
  • Previous experience teaching RE in a secondary school setting, with a passion for the subject.
  • Strong knowledge of world religions, ethical perspectives, and cultural diversity.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to create engaging and thought-provoking lessons.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection standards.
  • Familiarity with the UK education system and current curriculum standards.
