Car/Van MOT Tester
Location: Skelmersdale
Salary: £35,360 per annum
A well-established and reputable repair shop in Skelmersdale is currently looking to recruit a qualified and experienced Car/Van MOT Tester. The ideal candidate will have experience carrying out MOT tests for Class 4 & 7 vehicles and a strong passion for delivering high-quality service.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct MOT inspections for Class 4 & 7 vehicles, ensuring they meet all safety and regulatory requirements.
- Perform basic vehicle servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, and general maintenance tasks.
- Carry out repairs and maintenance work on various vehicle systems such as brakes, tyres, suspension, and exhaust systems.
- Diagnose and repair common engine and gearbox issues, including clutch replacements.
- Carry out tyre replacements and puncture repairs.
- Perform basic diagnostics using dealer diagnostic tools for engine management systems.
- Handle vehicle electrical fault finding and repairs.
- Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all services, repairs, and inspections.
The Candidate:
- Full Class 4 & 7 MOT Tester qualification is essential.
- Previous experience working as an MOT Tester, with a strong background in MOT testing and vehicle repairs.
- Knowledge of vehicle systems and diagnostics, with experience in common repairs such as brakes, tyres, and engine management.
- Experience using dealer diagnostic tools is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well independently or as part of a team.
