Accounts Controller, Skipton, Salary Circa £30,000 DOE

Are you working in an Accounts looking and looking for a new challenge? Are you keen to take on my duties and learn new skills? Maybe you are looking to take your next step.

This is a new role to be based in a small team providing support to a diverse rural and hospitality focused businesses. You do not need to have covered all areas of accounts as training can be provided.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in accounts with the ability to support a small finance team. This role will report directly to the Finance Manager.

Skills Required:

• Ideally qualified but not essential

• Experience within an account’s role

• Demonstratable team player

• Ideally knowledge of Xero

• Be a flexible self-starter keen to be involved in all aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounting and bookkeeping

• Manage the sales ledger.

• Regular discussions with the Finance Manager to monitor the accounts and budgets.

• Monitoring of the cashflow position against budgeted spending and reporting cashflow and bank balances.

• Assist with the environmental grant application and monitoring process.

• Assistance with preparation of the annual accounts for review by the external accountants.

• Support to the Accountants to ensure completion of the year end work to meet tax compliance deadlines.

• Identify cost saving opportunities.

• Support and cover of the bookkeeping and payroll functions where necessary.

• Be the utilities contract manager and take a lead on the procurement process.
