Head of Ecommerce - N.Peal

The opportunity has arisen to join a highly ambitious, driven, high performing luxury retail business. N.Peal is a privately-owned London cashmere brand. Recognised and trusted for our integrity and quality worldwide, N.Peal prides itself on delivering the highest standards to our customers across the board. In addition to flagship stores in Burlington Arcade, London and Madison Avenue, New York the brand has 9 other retail stores together with a strong online business, accounting for approximately £10m of the £30m annual turnover.
As a business we have exciting plans for growth and are looking for an experienced Head of Ecommerce to join the business, lead the web team, join the senior management team and report to the Managing Director. This is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to help us achieve our vision to become the leading global destination for naturally sustainable, luxury cashmere. Managing an inhouse team of four, the role will also work closely with our development and digital marketing agency partners.
We are looking for a dynamic individual with a positive attitude and plenty of drive. The individual needs to be able to operate and think strategically, with strong management skills whilst also getting hands on, rolling up their sleeves and making things happen to grow the online business even further.
The Role
This varied role will further grow the ecommerce business by providing an outstanding experience for the online customer, across the website and all marketing channels. The successful candidate will drive the development of the online brand and optimisation of website functionality and design.
Working closely with the MD, you will be responsible for:
-Trading and reporting on the online channels (US, EU and RoW websites and Farfetch) on a daily basis, using all traffic channels to deliver ambitious but realistic growth targets in terms of revenue and new customers with a key focus on ROAS and CPAs
-Oversee budgets and web P&L at a granular level to ensure spend efficiency is maximised, measured and controlled
-Ensure an incredible customer experience is available across the site, socials, email and marketing channels,
-Oversee the online execution of the brand, ensuring a consistent level of quality, content and tone of voice is had across all digital touchpoints, including Ecom studio and flatlay imagery, inline with brand guidelines
-Develop and deliver a customer strategy to increase response rates across the customer file, considering activity for all customer cohorts from new customers through to lapsing and lapsed
-Plan and execute campaign roll outs across all channels, inline with seasonal product launches
-Manage, develop, support and grow the E-commerce team, encouraging them to thrive and deliver
-Manage all digital agency relationships and channels including SEO, PPC, social media and the web development agency, challenging our third parties to deliver to targets, within spend
-Ensure the web experience and systems are futureproofed, allowing the brand to excel online, without making early adopter mistakes
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be commercially driven and a natural trader with creative talent and comfortable with the detail of this rapidly growing area of the business. You will also have:
- Experience as Head of Ecommerce in a similar role is essential
- Experience of working for a luxury brand, within retail is highly desirable
- A proven ability to drive sales and new customers whilst maintaining defined KPI metrics, an analytical mind is essential
- A good level of emotional intelligence and experience of leading a team and managing agency relationships
- Strong resourceful and independent characteristics
- An eye for detail and the ability to identify a luxury aesthetic
- Strong organisational skills and focused on delivering tangible outcomes and results within timescales
Further Details
The N.Peal Head office is based in the Broughton Hall Estate, near Skipton in Yorkshire although regular monthly visits to London will be required. Flexible working hours are possible for the right candidate together with mix of office (3 days weekly) and working from home.
