Windsor Forest College Group is looking for a Technical Skills Coach – Engineeringtojoin the Slough & Langley College team on a full-time basis.

Technical Skills Coach - Engineering

The Technical Skills Coach/Trainer - Engineering is responsible for managing a caseload of apprentices in the Engineering Levels 3-6 Apprenticeship Programmes. Providing effective skills coaching and mentoring to enhance the apprentice and employer experience and ensure successful achievement towards the end point assessment.

The main duties of the role include conducting visits and formative assessments in the workplace or remotely to support students’ progress towards a successful gateway. The Technical Skills Coach also provides teaching, coaching, mentoring, and assessment to apprentices. Additionally, they teach the theory elements of the standard in a classroom environment and provide ongoing support to apprentices and their employers, including regular communication and explanation of the standards.

The ideal candidate will be someone who has a Level 4 or higher Teaching Qualification, or the willingness to work towards this whilst on the job. You must in addition have an Appropriate Engineering HNC/HND/Degree and/or vocational qualification or equivalent and be ideally IEng registered. An A1 Assessors Award is a strong advantage, if you do not have one you must be willing to work towards this in the first year of employment.
