Your Role as a Senior Shift Technician:

As a Senior Shift Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operations of the data centre, overseeing a team of skilled engineers on a continental shift pattern. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of engineers, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Performance Management: Monitor team performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Operational Excellence: Work closely with various departments to maintain the highest standards of operational excellence, ensuring the data centre operates at its optimal capacity.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and resolve any technical issues, minimising downtime and maintaining seamless operations.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and communicate with higher management about the team's performance and overall data centre status.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a lead technician, management or supervisory role, preferably in a data centre or facilities environment.
  • Electrically qualified NVQ / C&G Level with 18th edition
  • HVAP and LVAP - Highly desirable
  • Strong technical knowledge of data centre operations and related equipment.
  • The ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and make critical decisions under pressure.
