Are you a qualified electrician? Do you have experience in critical environments either in maintenance or installation? My client are seeking a qualified electricians / maintenance engineer who is seeking a new challenge. This position is based on a large critical site in Slough. This is a Monday - Friday based role with over time available.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs of data centre equipment and systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks and respond to emergency issues promptly.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
  • Monitor and maintain data centre security, including access control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and improve operational processes.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and service reports.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in building maintenance, ideally in a critical environment such as a data centre.
  • Solid knowledge of data centre infrastructure, including power distribution, cooling systems, and fire suppression.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving issues with electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, TIA-942, Uptime Institute Tier Standards).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work continental shifts, including days and nights.
