We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Global Forwarding Agent to manage international shipping operations across Ocean & Air freight. This role requires a deep understanding of industry processes, documentation, and financial components, ensuring smooth execution of shipments while maintaining high service standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Excellence- Oversee and execute end-to-end international shipments, ensuring compliance with all regulations and customer SOPs.
- Process and manage financial aspects of shipments, including accurate billing and invoicing.
- Utilize industry expertise to troubleshoot challenges and develop effective solutions.
- Coordinate shipments and mentor team members on booking approvals, pre-alert processing, governmental filings, and deliveries.
- Maintain accurate data and documentation in Navisphere and other relevant platforms.
- Generate complex freight quotes based on client and network needs.
- Provide real-time tracking and shipment updates to customers.
- Ensure high-level data integrity by verifying shipment details, INCOterms, routing, and documentation.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Act as a subject matter expert and primary contact for customer inquiries and issue resolution.
- Lead by example in customer retention, outreach, and account expansion.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with account management teams to improve processes and service delivery.
- Monitor customer shipment trends and provide strategic insights.
- Ensure all customer SOPs are up to date and adhered to.
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency through technology and process improvements.
- Support Sales Executives and Account Managers with customer reporting and analysis.
- Perform other duties as needed based on team and company requirements.
- 3-5 years of Global Forwarding experience (Ocean & Air).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with CNS & Destin8 (Ocean Port Platforms).
- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or International Business.
- Extensive knowledge of international shipping regulations and industry best practices.
- Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Prior experience in customer service and account management.
- High attention to detail with a strong track record of compliance and cost control.
- Fluency in additional European languages is a plus.
- Familiarity with customs procedures and bonded transport operations.
